2025 Funding Priorities and Progress

As we enter 2025, we are filled with gratitude for your support. With input from Sister Gertrude and the school community, we’ve identified the school’s most pressing needs. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already made incredible progress—and there’s more to do.

What we’ve achieved together:

  • New girls’ dorm – Status: Fully Funded!
This January, the new dormitory opened for 32 upper primary girls and their matron. It’s a safe, supportive home where these students can thrive academically and personally.
  • 4×4 Truck – Status: Fully Funded!
Sister Gertrude is searching for a reliable 4×4 twincab truck to handle transportation for students and supplies—a critical need to keep the school running smoothly

Next up:

  • Learner scholarships
Each $1,200 scholarship ensures a child receives tuition, books, uniforms, and meals for a full year. We need support to secure 10 more scholarships this year.
  • Internet upgrade
We need to upgrade our current internet capacity to provide high speed access for everyone on campus. Our learners are missing out on learning opportunities and so much more. Cost: approximately $4,000/year.
  • Washing machines
Currently, matrons handwash clothing for younger students, which is time-consuming and inefficient. Washing machines saves time and will reduce strain on staff. Cost: approximately $2,000.
  • Greenhouse
A greenhouse, costing roughly $3,000 to construct, will provide fresh produce year-round, improving nutrition and increasing self-sustainability.

Looking ahead:

  • Electric generator
Frequent power outages leave dorms, classrooms, and the kitchen in the dark. A generator will ensure the campus runs smoothly during blackouts.
  • Campus security
We’re considering hiring a nighttime guard to watch the campus perimeter to keep the students and staff safe.
  • Kitchen renovation
The kitchen needs critical, costly updates, including a new roof, plumbing, and modern stoves, to better serve the school community.
  • Teacher housing
On-campus housing would help attract and retain teachers who currently travel long distances or live in inadequate conditions.

How You Can Help

Your generosity has already transformed lives, and your continued support will allow us to achieve even more. You can donate online, by mail, or via Venmo. Whether you give toward a specific project, sponsor a scholarship, or make a general donation, every gift makes a difference. Donors are invited to join stewardship trips to visit the school and see firsthand the impact of your contributions. Thank you for being part of this journey.
